Women's Tennis Falls To Fairleigh Dickinson

March 23, 2011

Bronx, N.Y. - Forced indoors due to the weather, the Fordham women's tennis team hosted Fairleigh Dickinson at the indoor courts at Stadium Tennis in the Bronx. The change of venue would see Fairleigh Dickinson sweep the doubles and earn five of six singles victories, as the Knights topped the Rams, 6-1.

Fordham's lone point in the match came from freshman Angelika Dabu, who defeated Irina Dementyeva, 6-2, 6-4, at second singles.

Sophomore Mia Fiocca just missed a second point for the Rams, as she fell to Elmine Botes in a super tie-breaker, 6-2, 2-6, and 10-6.

The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on Wednesday, March 30th as they host Temple University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 1:00 p.m. (the match scheduled for Sunday, March 27th at Villanova has been postponed).
