Bronx, N.Y. -
The Fordham softball team travels over to Queens, New York to face St. John's in a single game that is now slated to be played on Tuesday, March 22 at 2:00 P.M. This is a schedule change from the original date of Wednesday, March 23 at 3:00 P.M. The amendment was done because of the potential for inclement weather on Wednesday.
The Rams enter the game with the Red Storm having opened up Atlantic 10 play with a split of a doubleheader against Saint Louis on Sunday, March 20 in St. Louis, Missouri. Fordham won the initial game 3-1, while the Billikens triumphed in the rubber match, 2-0.
The Red Storm and the Rams last met on March 31, 2010. In that game, then rookie, Jamie LaBovick hit a three-run home run in the tenth inning to give the Rams a 3-0 win over St. John's. The extra-inning affair so Fordham starter Jen Mineau throw all 10 innings to record her eighteenth win of the season.
The game on Tuesday is a brief respite from conference play for the Rams. After the games with Saint Louis, and following the single competition with the Red Storm, Fordham travels upstate to Olean, New York and returns to A-10 play with a pair of games against St. Bonaventure. The first game in the series is slated for Friday, March 25 at 3:00 P.M. The final game is Saturday, March 26 at noon.
The Rams, who are 15-13 on the season, open the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday, March 30, when they welcome the Lehigh Mountain Hawks to the Bronx for a pair of games. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M.
