Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham softball team will travel to Orlando, Florida to participate in the 2011 Citrus Classic from the Wide World of Sports Complex during the weekend of March 4-6. The opponents include Illinois State, Illinois, #1/#3 Alabama, Notre Dame (currently receiving votes in the top 25) and North Carolina.

The Rams open the tournament with the Redbirds on Friday, March 4 at 3:00 P.M. On Saturday, March 5th, Fordham has two games scheduled. The first one, against Illinois at 9:00 A.M. will be televised on ESPN3.com. The afternoon game, beginning at 12:30, is the much anticipated match up with #1/#3 Alabama. The tournament concludes on Sunday as the Rams face the Fighting Irish at 9:00 A.M. and then close out play with UNC at 11:30 A.M.

Following the 2011 Citrus Classic, Fordham softball will return to action on Saturday, March 12, as the team travels to Charlottesville, Virginia to play in the Cavalier Classic.
