The Fordham University community is mourning the loss of a recent member of the football squad last Friday with the passing of Josh Arcadia, GSB '07, at the age of 26.
"Josh was a senior my first year at Fordham and he was a pleasure to have on the team," said head football coach Tom Masella. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Arcadia family for their loss."
Arcadia was a three-year member of the Fordham football squad, appearing with the junior varsity his first two years and then with the varsity as a senior, completing one of three passes on the year.
He arrived at Fordham after attending The Lawrenceville School, Northern Highlands High School in Allendale, New Jersey, and Boyertown Area Senior High School, in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. He earned Second Team All-North Bergen Interscholastic League honors in football at Northern Highlands and was also active with the wrestling squad, garnering the Outstanding Wrestler Award in 2001 while winning the Bergen County Coaches association title and leading the school to the district championship. Arcadia also won the district championship in 2002.
Arcadia had been employed by Barclay's Capital and was serving as a football coach for The Lawrenceville School.
A funeral service for Arcadia will be held on Saturday, February 5th, at The Lawrenceville School Chapel, 2500 Main Street, Lawrenceville, N.J. Calling/viewing will occur from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM followed by mass at 12:30 PM. For directions click here. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery.
