Cathedral City, Calif. - The 2011 Fordham softball team is set to play in the Cathedral City Classic from Cathedral City, California. The tournament begins with the Rams facing off against Big 12 opponent, Texas, at 8:30 P.M. Eastern. Following the game with the Longhorns, the Rams face off against the University of Washington at 11:00 P.M. Eastern.

On Friday, February 25, the Rams play only one game, against Cal. State Fullerton at 11:30 P.M. Eastern. They wrap-up play in the California tournament on Saturday, February 26th when they meet Southeast Conference opponent LSU at 8:30 P.M. Eastern and conclude with Nevada in the rubber game at 11:00 P.M. Eastern.

Fordham is currently 4-5 on the season. Recently, they picked up a win against #25 DePaul University on February 19. Also, senior pitcher Chelsea Plimpton was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week on February 21.

Following the Cathedral City Classic, the Rams will travel to Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida to compete in the 2011 Citrus Classic. Fordham will face Illinois State, Alabama, Illinois, Notre Dame and North Carolina in the tournament.
