Student-Athlete Advisory Council Sponsors Table Tennis Tournament for the Each One Counts Foundation

Feb. 11, 2011

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) is currently sponsoring a table tennis charity tournament for the Each One Counts Foundation, which raises funds for pediatric hospice and palliative care programs in the Metropolitan Area and surrounding areas.

The Each One Counts Foundation raises funds to ease the physical pain and suffering of terminally ill children at a number of locations around the Metropolitan Area.

The idea of the tournament came from Brian Harrington, a graduate of Villanova University and a member of their 1985 NCAA men's basketball championship team. Working closely with the foundation, he donated the supplies and tables to a number of universities to participate in this charity event.

The tournament will run through the Spring semester and is open to each sports team at Fordham and will extend to campus area groups as well. For those interested in signing up to play, it is $5 per entry or if you like to make a direct donation to SAAC's efforts, it is also encouraged.

For more information or to sign-up for one of the brackets, please contact Marianne Reilly by e-mail at mreilly@fordham.edu, or call the Athletic Department at 718-817-4300.
