The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has announced its 2011 Team Academic Award winners this past week. Among those honored were both the Fordham men's and women's soccer teams for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2010-11 academic year. This is the second consecutive years that both soccer programs have been honored.
Fordham was one of five Atlantic 10 schools to have its men's and women's soccer programs honored, joining Charlotte, Dayton, Richmond, and Xavier, and one of 154 schools nationally.
On the men's side, Fordham was one of 218 men's soccer teams to receive the NSCAA Team Academic Award, posting a team GPA of 3.26. Fordham joined fellow Atlantic 10 institutions, Charlotte, Dayton, Duquesne, Richmond and Xavier on the list.
For the women, Fordham was one of 571 teams honored with the team academic award with a team GPA of 3.30. Fordham joined fellow Atlantic 10 institutions, Charlotte, Dayton, George Washington, La Salle, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Temple and Xavier on the list.
