Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshman Jonathan Annelli (Meriden, Conn./Xavier) was named the Atlantic 10's Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week today by the league office. It is Annelli's first career weekly honor.

In his first competition of the season, Annelli took to the track in the 3,000-meter run at the Fordham Season Opener on December 2nd. Annelli took the top spot in the 12 runner field in a time of 9:00.2.

Annelli and the rest of the Fordham track & field team will next be in action on Friday, December 9th, when the Rams host their second and final meet of the season, the Christmas Classic, at the Lombardi Center Fieldhouse. Field events begin at 3:00 PM, while running events are scheduled for a 5:00 PM start.
