Fordham Game Notes

The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continue their 2011-12 home schedule on Monday when they host the Hampton University Pirates at 7:00 p.m. in the historic Rose Hill Gym. The game can be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on wfuv.org and will be video streamed live on www.FordhamSports.com.

The Rams enter the game with a 2-3 overall record after falling to Lehigh, 78-60, in the Rose Hill Gym on Thursday night. Hampton enters a game in the Big Apple Classic at Madison Square Garden with Howard University on Sunday night with a 3-4 record.

On the court, Fordham is led by junior Chris Gaston, who scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Lehigh, his fourth straight double-double of the year and the 40th of his career. Gaston's 14 points brought his career total to 1,026, good for 32nd on the Rams' all-time scoring list, one point behind David Buckner (1989-93) for 31st place, while his 12 rebounds brought his career rebounding total to 684, moving him ahead of Danny O'Sullivan (1986-90) and into 12th place on the Rams' all-time rebounding list, six behind Charlie Yelverton (1968-71).

Monday's game will be the third meeting between the Rams and the Pirates on the hardwood. Hampton won the previous two matchups, including a 58-48 victory in the Rose Hill Gym last year.

Come out and support your Rams tonight in the Rose Hill Gym!
