Dec. 20, 2011
Bronx, N.Y. -
Here's a trivia question for Fordham men's basketball fans. When was the last time an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) school came into the Rose Hill Gym for a game with the Rams? The 1980's? No. The 1970's? Nope. How about December 17, 1964 when North Carolina State University ventured up to the Bronx and escaped with a 65-64 win over the Rams.
That will change on December 29th as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pay a visit to historic Rose Hill Gym for a matchup with the hometown Rams at 8:00 pm in a game that will be televised live by the CBS Sports Network.
Georgia Tech will be only the third ACC school to appear in the Rose Hill Gym, joining North Carolina State and the University of Maryland, who defeated the Rams 61-58 on December 7, 1957. North Carolina played Fordham in the 69th Street Armory on January 4, 1941 and Virginia came up to New York to face Fordham on February 4, 1950 in Madison Square Garden but both those game occurred before the formation of the ACC in 1953.

The Fordham women will also be in action over break, hosting the annual Fordham Holiday Classic on December 29th and 30th. On the first day, the Rams open the tournament by facing Navy at noon followed by Coppin State and Boston University at 2:00 p.m. On December 30th, the consolation game will begin at 1:00 pm followed by the championship game at 3:00 pm.
