The Atlantic 10 Conference and CBS Sports Network have announced the addition of three nationally-televised league contests, including a regular-season women's basketball game, along with the 2012 A-10 Lacrosse and Baseball Championships. The 2012 Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship game will be aired live on May 26 from Houlihan Park on the campus of Fordham University.
The television additions are part of a comprehensive package in which the Atlantic 10 Conference and its membership is televising over 170 men's and women's basketball games during the 2011-12 season. These games are broadcast via national, regional and local television affiliates, showcasing a league that ranks among the nation's best in both men's and women's basketball RPI. There are 15 Atlantic 10 teams (eight men's, seven women's) ranked among the top 100 RPI leaders.
Hosting the Atlantic 10 Championship for the second time in seven seasons, Houlihan Park is the home field for the Fordham baseball team, which stands as the winningest program in NCAA history. The Rams will be competing for their sixth Atlantic 10 Championship tournament berth in the last nine years, in hopes of being at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship, May 23-26.
The Fordham baseball team begins its 2012 season in North Carolina with a three-game series at Western Carolina from February 17-19.
