Bronx, N.Y. -
On the heels of earning the regular season Co-Championship of the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Fordham men's soccer team posted a video that appeared on the soccer website, www.topdrawersoccer.com. The video was shot by the an offical close to the team.
The trailer offers an intimate glimpse into the team. It includes them preparing for games, clowning around and running up some very famous steps. All of the footage was shot over the course of the season.
The men's soccer team finished the regular season with an 11-6-1 record, including a 7-2 conference mark. Highlights of the season include a pair of wins over ranked opponents, #23 Xavier and #10 Charlotte. The win over the Musketeers was Ryan Meara's 28th career shutout, giving him the school's all-time mark. In the victory over the 49ers, John Niyonsaba nailed the game's only goal.
Not to be outdone this year, John McHugh has a pair of golden goals to his credit. He wrapped a corner kick into the net against Columbia and scored in double-overtime most recently, against Temple, to help secure a pair of wins.
The Rams head into the A-10 championship, in St. Louis, with a first-round bye. Despite finishing as Co-Champions in the A-10 with George Washington, they are the number one seed and will open up play on Friday against the lowest remaining seed in the tournament.
