Complete Results

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Fordham swimming & diving teams wrapped up their stay at the three-day Bucknell Invitational on Sunday in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The Fordham women finished in second place, while the men's team ended up in fourth place.

In the women's competition, Bucknell won the invitational with 1351 points, followed by Fordham (1159.5), Delaware (1090.5), Colgate (1041.5), Georgetown (989.5), La Salle (950), and Susquehanna (12). On the men's side, Bucknell also won with 1729.5 points, followed by Delaware (1129.5), La Salle (1070), Fordham (1023), Georgetown (903), Colgate (491), and Susquehanna (17).

A total of 13 events were held on the final day (seven women, six men), and began with women's 1650 freestyle, where Fordham had four swimmers score points, led by Kara Field, who finished fourth in 17:14.89, and Frances Warren, who was 12th in 17:43.28. Victoria McGovern also scored for the Rams in 20th place (18:10.66), as did Giulia Kaftan in 24th (18:25.11).

In the men's version, Fordham had two swimmers score in the 1650 freestyle. Andrew Hendrickson placed fifth overall in 16:22.91, while Nicolas Alemann was 11th in 16:46.51.

Next up was the 200 backstroke, where Fordham's Brienne Ryan registered her second event win of the competition, winning the "A" final in a season-best time of 2:00.21. Four other women scored for Fordham in the event, including Spencer Chappell (8th - 2:08.71), Jordan Tomimatsu (won "C" final for 17th - 2:09.20), Maureen McKenna (18th - 2:09.36), and Alexandra Wessel (19th - 2:09.42).

On the men's side of the 200 backstroke, five Rams made the finals, led by Thomas Yi. He finished fourth in the "A" final in a season-best time of 1:51.96, while Michael Grimmett-Norris was seventh in 1:55.26. In the "B" final, Will Thomann finished 13th overall in 1:57.52 with Zach Jacobsen taking 15th (1:59.04). Hendrickson was the last finalist in the "C" final, placing 19th in 2:03.57.

The next event was the 100 freestyle, where three women and four men made the finals. Ariana Peschke (53.37) and Alana Biagioli (53.40) placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the "A" final, while Kellie Lyver was 12th in the "B" final in 53.72 seconds. On the men's side, Devon Morris qualified for the "A" final, grabbing third place in 46.58 seconds, while Shintaro Noguchi (46.69) and Patrick Militti (47.58) were 10th and 13th, respectively in the "B" final. Nicholas Belfanti was the last finalist, taking 20th in the "C" final in 48.25 seconds.

In the 200 breaststroke, three women made the "C" final as Savannah Coe won that particular race in 2:28.92 (17th overall), while Field (2:30.01) and McGovern (2:34.31) were 18th and 20th overall. The men's competition saw five Rams in the finals, led by Sean McManus, who was eighth in 2:12.34. Ben Dwyer (2:12.48) and Kevin Kosciuk (2:13.65) were 11th and 13th respectively in the "B" final, while Joe Hines (18th - 2:14.13) and Nick Lusardi (23rd - 2:19.85) rounded out the competitors in the "C" final.

The Rams then had their best showing in the 200 butterfly, where six women and four men made the finals. The ten finalists were highlighted by Courtney Collyer winning her third event of the invitational, taking home the "A" final in a season-best time of 2:01.96. Right behind her was teammate Frances Warren in fourth place in 2:06.97, while Shannon Jones was 13th overall in the "B" final in 2:11.56. A trio of Rams made the "C" final, as Aurelia O'Keefe was 20th (2:13.07), Tomimatsu was 23rd (2:16.86), and Miranda Morton was 24th (2:24.47).

In the men's event, Noguchi placed second overall in a season-best time of 1:52.72, while Militti was sixth in 1:54.99. Kosciuk was 14th overall in the "B" final (1:57.55) with Grimmett-Norris being the last finalist in 23rd place in 1:59.72.

The last individual event was the finals of the women's three-meter dive, where seniors Andrea Krok and Elizabeth Dorger both placed in the top four. Krok was third in the competition with a score of 248.05, while Dorger was fourth with a total of 2:42.90.

The final event of the invitational was the 400 freestyle relay, which saw Fordham take first in the women's event and second in the men's race. Biagioli, Collyer, Peschke and Ryan won the women's 400 freestyle relay in a season-best time of 3:29.06, while Noguchi, Militti, Yi, and Morris were second on the men's side in a season-best time of 3:05.58.

The Fordham swimming & diving team will next be in action on Saturday, December 3rd, when the Rams travel to Williamstown, Massachusetts for a tri-meet with Williams College and Boston College, beginning at 1:00 PM.
