Men's Basketball Hosts Binghamton in Home Opener on Friday at 7:00 PM

The Fordham University men's basketball Rams opens their 2011-12 home schedule on Friday when they host the Binghamton University Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. in the Rose Hill Gym. The Rams going door-to-door delivering free pizza


The Rams helped spread the word about the opener around campus on Thursday night by delivering free pizza to the dorms while asking for the students to come out and support them on Friday night. Check out the photos in the Photo Gallery

The Rams enter the game with a 0-1 overall record after falling to fifth-ranked Syracuse, 78-53, in Syracuse on Saturday. Binghamton enters the game with a 0-2 record, falling to Colgate at home on Friday, 78-74, and at Cornell, 76-71, on Monday night.

On the court, Fordham is led by junior Chris Gaston, who scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds at Syracuse. Those numbers bring his career totals to 963 points, moving him into 36th place on the Fordham all-time scoring list, 33 points behind Andre McClendon (1986-90) and Mark Murphy (1979-83), and 640 rebounds, moving him up to 13th on the Fordham career list, 40 behind Dan O'Sullivan (1986-90).

Friday's game will be the second meeting between the Rams and the Bearcats on the hardwood. Fordham took the first meeting, 72-60, in the Rose Hill Gym on December 28, 2007.
