Bronx, N.Y. -
In what was a make-up event due to the cancellation of the Colgate Invitational early in the golf season, the men's team was a late addition to the Big 5 Invitational, which begins this Saturday, October 8, in Philadelphia. Action begins at 7:00 A.M. on Saturday at the Plymouth Country Club, which will serve as the home course.
The Rams enter the event on the heels of a 13th place finish at last week's MacDonald Cup in New Haven, Connecticut. The golfers competing in the Big 5 Invitational for Fordham will be Jason Del Rosso, Devon O'Rourke, Connor Monaghan, Brody Nieporte and Jeff Hogan.
The team competed in the 2010 Big 5 Invitational and placed 15th out of 21 teams. O'Rourke paced the team with a 36th-position finish. Del Rosso, Nieporte and Monaghan all competed in the Invitational as well. This will be the first time Hogan participates in the event.
Following the Big 5 Invitational, the Fordham men's golf team will compete at the Classic at Shelter Harbor from Charlestown, Rhode Island. The event gets underway early in the morning on Saturday, October 15.
