Bronx, N.Y. - Both the Fordham men's and women's soccer teams will complete the home portion of their schedules on Friday with an Atlantic 10 doubleheader against La Salle. The men's game is slated to begin at 5:00 PM and the women are scheduled for approximately 7:30 PM. Prior to each game, Senior Night ceremonies will be held to honor the graduating members of each squad.

For the men, the 11 honorees are Michael Caputo, Matt Courtenay, Phil Ferrantello, Leonardo Gomez, Sam Jolly, Aaron Markowitz, Ryan Meara, John McHugh, John Niyonsaba, Andreas Pafitis and Tim Richardson. The women's team will recognize Michaela Murphy, Mariella Romano and Katherine Wah.

MEN'S SOCCER PREVIEW: The Rams enter the contest with an 8-6-1 mark, and a 4-2 record in Atlantic 10 play. They are in a tie for first and enter the game with the Explorers on the heels of a 1-0 upset of #10 Charlotte. Against the 49ers, John Niyonsaba scored the only goal of the contest off of an assist from Michael Valencia.

Following the game with La Salle, the Fordham men's soccer team closes out its 2011 regular season with a weekend trip to Philadelphia. They face Saint Joseph's on Friday, November 4 at 7:00 P.M. and then meet Temple on Sunday, November 6 at 1:00 P.M.

WOMEN'S SOCCER PREVIEW: The Rams welcome in their second ranked opponent of the season in #25/17 La Salle, who holds the top spot in the league at 7-0-1 and 15-0-2 overall.

Fordham is still alive for a berth in next week's Atlantic 10 Championship tournament to be held at Dayton's Baujan Field from November 3-6. The Rams are in a tie for the final spot with Charlotte and Saint Louis, while also being just one point behind fifth place St. Bonaventure.

In order to stay alive, Fordham must post a win against the Explorers, and then get some help from Dayton and Xavier, who are the opponents for Charlotte and Saint Louis this weekend.

La Salle has been one of the big stories in women's soccer, after posting 11 shutouts to begin the season. The Explorers have allowed only five goals all season for a 0.29 goals against average.

The Explorer offense is no slouch either, averaging 2.35 goals per game, led by Kelsey Haycock (16 goals) and Renee Washington (10 goals).

Overall, Fordham is 8-6-1 all-time against the Explorers.
