Bronx, N.Y. -
As part of Atlantic 10 media day on Wednesday, the A-10 office released the first pre-season conference poll and the Fordham Rams' team is predicted to finish 12th, out of 14 teams. The squad earned 42 points in the poll.
Both Dayton and Temple shared the first place position on the poll as each side earned 189 points and 7 first place points. Following them Duquesne, Charlotte, Saint Joseph's, St. Bonaventure, Xavier, Richmond, George Washington and Massachusetts fill out the top 10. After those teams, La Salle is predicted to finish 11th, followed by Fordham and then Rhode Island and Saint Louis to close out the poll.
The Rams are coming off a 12-19 season that saw them advance to the A-10 championship, where they were ousted by the Bonnies in the first round. The team features a new coaching staff, led by Stephanie Gaitley and 10 new players. Of the five returnees, Becky Peters is the lone senior and the leading scorer from a year ago. Joining her as the most tenured players are Charlotte Stoddart, Arielle Collins, Ranait Griff and Abigail Corning.
Fordham opens the season on Friday, November 11 when they welcome the Albany Great Danes into the Rose Hill Gym. The matchup with Albany is slated to start at 7:00 P.M.
