Fordham junior Amy Simidian was the last member of the women's tennis team still standing on day three of the 2011 USTA/ITA Northeast Regional, hosted at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. Simidian posted another comeback victory in the round of 32, but saw her run end later in the day in the round of 16.
Simidian, the 17th overall seed, began the day with a seeded match-up with #14 Katarina Gajic of Boston College. Gajic took the opening set, 6-3, but Simidian rallied back for the second straight match, winning the final two sets, 6-4, 6-2, to advance into the round of 16.
In the round of 16, Simidian took on Yale's Hanna Yu, with Yu taking home a straight set victory, 7-5, 6-0.
