Patrick Murray, Ian Williams and Greg Wilson Honored by College Football Performance Awards

Fordham University junior punter Patrick Murray (Mahwah, N.J./Don Bosco Prep), sophomore defensive back Ian Williams (West Palm Beach, Fla./The King's Academy) and junior wide receiver Greg Wilson (Danville, Calif./San Ramon Valley) were named Honorable Mention NCAA FCS Performers of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards it was announced on Monday. It is the third award of the year for Murray, who was twice named NCAA FSC Punter of the Week, and the first for Williams and Wilson.

In Fordham's 34-12 loss to #8 Lehigh last Saturday, Murray punted six times for 266 yards (44.3 yards/punt) with a long of 57 yards. Three of his six punts landed inside the Lehigh 20 with one being downed on the Mountain Hawks' five.

On the year, Murray has punted 29 times for 1,342 yards, an average of 46.3 yards/punt. He leads the Patriot League in punting average and is third in the NCAA FCS. Of his 29 punts, 14 have landed inside the opponent's 20 and ten have traveled more than 50 yards. His long on the year is a 73-yarder that tied his career best as well as tying for the second longest in Fordham history.

Williams intercepted two passes against Lehigh, the first two pass interceptions of his career. He also notched three solo stops.

On the year, Williams has 26 total tackles, 20 solo, along with two interceptions and five pass break ups. He is tied for third in Patriot League in interceptions/game and tied for fourth in pass deflections/game.

Greg Wilson


Wilson hauled in three passes for 150 yards versus Lehigh on Saturday, including an 82-yard scoring strike from Ryan Higgins. The 82-yard touchdown pass was the longest scoring pass for the Rams since a 98-yard completion from John Skelton to Asa Lucas in 2009.

On the season, Wilson has hauled in 12 passes for 243 yards (20.2 yards/catch) and one touchdown. He has also returned three kickoffs for 60 yards and two punts for nine yards.

The Rams (1-5) will continue their 2011 schedule on Saturday, October 22nd, as they travel to Easton, Pennsylvania, to face the Lafayette College Leopards in a match-up of Patriot League teams on Fisher Field at 1:00 p.m.
