Member of the Fordham University men's tennis squad competed in the ITA Northeast Regionals this weekend at Cornell University with the Rams having three singles players and one doubles team contending.
In singles play, Kuba Kowalski fell to Stony Brook's Francis Bertrand in the round of 128, dropping the first set, 7-6 (5-0 in the tiebreaker) before coming back to forced a third set with a 6-2 victory in set two. In the third set, Bertrand bested Kowalski, 6-3.
Mischa Koran also lost in the round of 128, falling in straight sets to Cornell's Quoc-Daniel Nguyen, 6-3 and 4-0.
Srikar Alla was the third Fordham singles player competing, falling to Fairfield's Ian Tesmond, 6-3 and 6-3, in the first round of the qualifying draw.
In doubles action, the team of Alla and Kowalski lost to Princeton's Augie Bloom and Dan Davies in the round of 64, 8-4.
The Rams are done with their fall schedule and will open the spring season on January 21st when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y., to face Colgate University.
