Nick Womack Honored by College Football Performance Awards

2011 College Football Performers of the Week (Oct. 10, 2011)

Fordham University senior linebacker Nick Womack (Maple Heights, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) was named Honorable Mention NCAA FCS Linebacker Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards it was announced on Monday. It is his second award of the year and the fourth for a Ram in 2011 (punter Patrick Murray was twice named NCAA FSC Punter of the Week).

In Fordham's 35-20 loss at Penn last Saturday, Womack recorded five solo tackles, including two for loss of ten yards and one sack for a loss of six yards.

On the year, Womack has registered 20 total tackles, 14 solo, including 4.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks, both team highs. He also has two interceptions on the year, one that he returned 100 yards for a touchdown in the win over Columbia, setting a school record for longest interception return. He is tied for second in the Patriot League in interceptions/game (0.40) and seventh in sacks.

The Rams (1-4) will continue their 2011 schedule on Saturday, October 15th, as they host the #8/9 Lehigh University Mountain Hawks in a match-up of Patriot League teams on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m.
