Fordham Hosts St. Bonaventure for Alumni Day on Saturday at 1:00 PM

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continue their 2011 Atlantic 10 season on Saturday afternoon by hosting the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies in the Rose Hill Gym at 1:00 p.m. The game will be Alumni Day at Fordham as the Rams welcome back former members of the basketball program who will be honored at halftime and are invited to a postgame reception at the Rebounders Club in Dagger John's following the game. Game Notes

The Rams enter the game with a 6-11 overall record, 0-6 in the Atlantic 10, after falling to Duquesne in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night.. St. Bonaventure enters the game with a 10-9 overall record, 2-4 in the conference, after a 78-69 home A-10 loss to Massachusetts on Wednesday.

Fordham will be guided into the game by first-year head coach Tom Pecora, who arrived at Rose Hill in March after nine successful seasons as the head coach at Hofstra where he averaged 20 wins during the past six years.

On the court, Fordham is led by sophomore Chris Gaston and senior Brenton Butler. Gaston has posted a double-double in eleven of the 18 games this year and is averaging a team-high 15.2 ppg and 11.2 rpg, tops in the Atlantic 10 and seventh best in the nation, while Butler is second on the team is scoring, averaging 14.7 ppg while also dishing out a team-best 64 assists. Freshman guard Branden Frazier, a product of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, is averaging 12.0 ppg.

Wednesday's game will be the 31st meeting between the Rams and the Bonnies on the hardwood. St. Bonaventure leads the all-time series, 16-14, including a pair of wins last year, 72-61 in the Rose Hill Gym and 73-68 at St. Bonaventure.
