The two-day competition of the 2011 Metropolitan Indoor Track & Field Championship got underway on Friday afternoon with the opening two events at Draddy Gymnasium in the Bronx.
Fordham would score in one of the two completed events, as senior Pat Brown placed fifth in the men's weight throw competition with a mark of 51' 1".
The Rams also have two competitors near the top of the men's heptathlon competition. Freshman Sam Houston sits in second place after day one with a score of 2,691 points, while senior Augustus Gleason is in fifth with a total of 2,465 points.
Competition in the men's heptathlon as well as all of the other events will take place on Saturday, January 29th, at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York.
