The Rams enter the game with a 6-7 overall record, 0-1 in the conference, following an Atlantic 10 70-51 loss to Temple University last Wednesday on the IZOD Center. Fordham will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak as well as a 27-game Atlantic 10 losing streak dating back to 2009. George Washington enters the game with a 9-6 overall record, 2-0 in the A-10, after a 78-71 conference win at Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
Fordham will be guided into the game by first-year head coach Tom Pecora, who arrived at Rose Hill in March after nine successful seasons as the head coach at Hofstra where he averaged 20 wins during the past six years.
On the court, Fordham is led by senior Brenton Butler and sophomore Chris Gaston. Butler, who has scored more than 20 points in four of the past seven games, is leading the team and is ranked ninth in the Atlantic 10, averaging 16.6 ppg, and he also lead the squad with 54 assists. Gaston has posted a double-double in nine of the 13 games this year and is averaging 14.9 ppg and 12.0 rpg. He leads the Atlantic 10 and is ranked third in the nation ion rebounding.
The game will be the 24th meeting between Fordham and George Washington on the hardwood. The Colonials lead the all-time series, 18-5, including a 78-53 win in the Rose Hill Gym last February.
