Golf Places Tenth at Cornell Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. - The Fordham University golf squad wrapped up play today at the Cornell Invitational on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course where the Rams placed tenth of 14 teams. Jason Del Rosso was the top Fordham finisher, tying for 34th overall with a 228.

Binghamton won the team title with a score of 868 followed by Columbia (881), Longwood (883), Lafayette (889) and Cornell (894). Fordham placed tenth with a score of 926.

Individually, Binghamton Jake Katz won the title with a three round score of 211, two strokes ahead of his teammate Trevor Fielder. After shooting a 77 in the first round, Del Rosso carded a 74 in the second round and a 77 today for a 228 total, tying him for 34th overall.

Other competitors for the Rams were Devon O'Rourke, who placed in a tie for 38th (75-75-79 - 228), Brody Nieporte, who placed 48th (77-80-77 - 234), Connor Monaghan, who tied for 49th (74-78-83 - 235) and Ryan Donahue, who tied for 68th (77-81-84 - 242).

The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, October 2nd as they open play at the MacDonald Cup at Yale University.
