Golf Tied for Ninth after First Round One at Cornell Invitational

Day One Results

Ithaca, N.Y. - After the first 18 holes of competition at the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Golf Course the Fordham Rams sit in a tie for ninth with a team score of 303. Connor Monaghan is the top Fordham golfer, sitting in a tie for ninth overall with a two over par 74.

Original plans called for the completion of 36 holes today but darkness halted play with all but three groups finishing round two. The groups will finish round two tomorrow beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the final 18 holes will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start for the title.

After 18 holes Binghamton leads the team race with score of 290 followed by Cornell (292), Lafayette (294), and Columbia and Siena, who are tied for fourth with a 295. The Rams are tied with Cornell B for ninth with a team score of 303, three strokes behind Bucknell and four in back of Canisius.

Monahan shot a 38 on the front nine and a 36 on the back nine for his 74 while teammate Devon O'Rourke shot a 39 and a 36 for a score of 75, tying him for 28th. Jason Del Rosso, Brody Nieporte and Ryan Donahue are all tied for 41st overall with a 77.
