The Fordham University golf squad wrapped up play at the 2010 Bucknell Fall Invitational with a third place finish of 13 teams, moving up from fourth after the first two rounds, on the Bucknell Golf Course.
Bucknell won the team title with a three round score of 888, one stroke ahead of runner-up Robert Morris and six in front of Fordham (894). Lehigh tied Laval for fourth with a team score of 896, followed by Colgate (898) with St. Peter's and Lafayette tying for seventh at 904.
C.G. Mercatoris of Robert Morris won the individual title, carding a three-round score of 211, three strokes ahead of Bucknell's Jon Hartman. Laval's Sonny Michaud placed third (215) with Fordham's Devon O'Rourke placing fourth (216). O'Rourke was consistent, shooting a 72 in each of the three rounds.
Jason Del Rosso was the second Fordham finisher, scoring a 73 in the third round to bring his total to 221, tying him for ninth. Connor Monaghan carded a 79 on the day to bring his total to 229, good for a tied for 34th, while Brody Nieporte shot an 81 for the final round which gave him a total of 233, good for a tie for 49th. Brendan Green was the fifth Fordham golfer, recording a 76 today for a three round total of 236, placing him 59th overall.
The Fordham golf squad will next be in action on Saturday, October 2nd as the Rams begin play at the McDonald Cup at Yale University.
