Bronx, N.Y. - In what has become an annual fall tradition, the Fordham baseball program held its 6th annual Young Alumni Challenge at Houlihan Park on Saturday. A total of 29 former players showed up to partake in the event, which was capped off with an incredible game against the current Fordham Rams baseball team.

From the latest Fordham baseball graduates to Vincent Carlesimo, class of 1973, the alumni came to play in this seven-inning exhibition game, as they took home a late-inning 3-2 win over the current Rams.

The alumni got on the board in the top of the first, as Rich Goulian '08 reached on an infield single, and moved to second on a single by Joe Ciccone '04. After Goulian stole third with Ciccone moving to second, Bobby DiNardo '09 hit an RBI-ground out to first, scoring Goulian for the opening run.

The current Rams responded immediately, as Ryan Lee scored from second base on a ground-rule double by Chris Walker.

The alumni once again took the lead in the top of the fifth, as Rob Iacono '09 reached first base on a walk, and came around to score on an RBI-triple to right center by Chris Kaible '09.

The 2011 team came back to tie the score at two in the bottom of the sixth, as with the bases loaded and one out, Ryan David plated Dan Sorine with a sacrifice fly to center.

The alumni however got the final run of the ballgame in the seventh. P.J. Como '10 singled to right, and then proceeded to steal second and third base with two outs. Fellow classmate Michael Taddei then beat out an infield single, allowing Como to score.

Kris Kozlowski '00 then closed out the win for the alumni with a 1-2-3 seventh inning for the save with J.P. Mack '10 receiving the win. Gary Reznik '99 pitched the opening two innings for the alumni, while Ryan Walker '08 and Jake Rabinowitz '09 also pitched an inning each.
