Behind another solid day of play, the Fordham golf team placed third out of nine teams at the Colgate Invitational, held at the Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y. Colgate won the overall title with a score of 606, nine shots ahead of Fordham.
Laval took second place with a two-day score of 610, followed by Fordham (615), Daemen (616), Bucknell (616), Niagara (626), Ottawa (627), LeMoyne (644), and Roberts Wesleyan (652).
Individually, Colgate's Will Delano and Daemen's Kyle Kapturowski tied for first with a one-under-par (-1) score of 143, but Delano would win the tournament on the first playoff hole.
Fordham's Jason Del Rosso finished in third place after a final round score of 74 and a two-day total of 145 (+1). Devon O'Rourke tied for 13th overall with a total score of 155 (76-79), while Brody Nieporte tied for 23rd overall with a score of 158 (82-76). Connor Monaghan tied for 28th, carding a 160 (76-84), followed by Nick Polvino (81-81-162 - T-36th), Pat Herlihy (85-84-169 - T-46th), Evan DeLuca (84-86-170 - 48th), and Brandon Nolan (91-81-172 - T-49th).
The Fordham golf team will next be in action on Friday, September 17th, when it begins play at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
