Fordham Football Hall of Famer Joe Jordan and Former Ram Parent Michael Farrell Honored by Irish America

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham Athletic Hall of Famer Joseph Jordan, CBA '74, and Michael Farrell, father of former Ram Seann Farrell, FCRH `05, were both honored by Irish America magazine by being included on the magazine's Thirteenth Annual Wall Street 50. The Wall Street 50 is a celebration of the best and the brightest Irish Americans and Irish-born who demonstrate standout success in the financial industry.

Jordan was a four year starter on the Rams' offensive line in the early 1970's, helping Fordham make the move from the club level to the NCAA Division III. He was twice named to the ECAC Division III All-East First Team while also earning All-New York State honors. As a sophomore, Jordan was listed as an "Outstanding College Athlete of America."

Jordan, who along with his wife, Geraldine, are All-American donors to the Gridiron Club, is senior vice president of MetLife, responsible for global sales process strategies relating to enterprise life, annuities, long term care and disability income. He joined the company in 1988 and is an industry-renowned thought leader in behavioral economics, client-centric tools, ethical selling and client advocacy. He founded the Insured Retirement Institute.

Seann Farrell


Farrell and his wife, Nancy, are Hall of Fame level donors to the Fordham Gridiron Club, and the parents of Seann Farrell, a four-year member of the football squad from 2001-04, Seann Farrell helped the 2002 squad to win Fordham's first ever Patriot League title.

The elder Farrell serves as the executive vice president for U.S. distribution at MetLife, and has over 34 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is responsible for leading MetLife's U.S. sales organization that provides products and services to millions of individuals and over 60,000 employers across the U.S., including over 90 of the top one hundred FORTUNE 500® companies.

Last year, Farrell received the Annie Moore award from the Irish American Cultural Institute. He is a board member of the Boys and Girls Club Life Camp and was named New Jersey's Irishman of the Year in 2005.
