2010 Fordham Volleyball Schedule (Printable Version) | On-Line Schedule

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham volleyball team announced their 2010 schedule today, which will feature a revamped 15-game Atlantic 10 schedule, as well as four tournaments in non-conference play, highlighted by matches against a number of ACC and Big East opponents. The Rams will also host the annual Rose Hill Classic for the 10th straight season, and have Kids' Day and Dig Pink promotions during the season.

Fordham, an Atlantic 10 championship participant in three of the last four seasons, will open their 37th varsity season in Massachusetts, at the Holy Cross/Boston College Tournament, August 27th-28th. The Rams will face Northeastern and Boston College in Worcester, Massachusetts on August 27th, while playing Holy Cross and Quinnipiac at Chestnut Hill on August 28th. Following that tournament, the Rams will head south to College Park, Maryland, for a three-match tournament at Maryland. Fordham opens against host Maryland on September 3rd, with matches against Georgetown and Bradley on September 4th.

The Rams then have their home opener on September 10th, as a part of the 10th Annual Rose Hill Classic on September 10th-11th. The tournament will feature ten matches over two days between Fordham, Harvard, Syracuse, Rider, and Stony Brook. In addition, the Rams will host "Kids' Day" on day one of the Classic, inviting a number of local schools and their students to take in a full day of NCAA Volleyball competition, while day two action will wrap around the Fordham football opener against Rhode Island.

Fordham volleyball will face a total of five teams from the Big East and two from the ACC.

Fordham has their final regular season tournament at Columbia on September 17th-18th. The Rams will face host Columbia on September 17th, and Fairleigh Dickinson and Bucknell on September 18th.

Fordham will have their second major promotion in conjunction with the Rhode Island home match on Friday, October 29th, as the team has their "Dig Pink" day in support of breast cancer research.

Besides the tournaments, Fordham has five other non-conference matches, which includes three Big East opponents. Fordham will meet St. John's (Sept. 14) and Seton Hall (Sept. 21) on the road, while hosting Hofstra (Oct. 6), Villanova (Oct. 12), and Fairfield (Oct. 20).

The Atlantic 10 conference has a revamped 15-game format for 2010, as the conference remains as one large division. Fordham will play home-and-home series against Saint Louis, Dayton, La Salle, George Washington, Temple, and Rhode Island, while having single games against Charlotte (home), Xavier (away), and Duquesne (away).

The Rams will look to make their fourth championship appearance in the last five years at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio.
