| On-Line Schedule
Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham women's soccer team announced their 2010 schedule today, which will feature ten non-conference games and nine Atlantic 10 contests. Included in those non-conference games, the Rams will play two teams from the Big East, one ACC team, and make their first ever Florida trip, playing a pair of road games against Miami (Fla.) and Florida Atlantic.
This will be the third straight season that Fordham will have a major non-conference road trip, following excursions to North Carolina (2008) and Nevada (2009).
Fordham, an Atlantic 10 semifinalist in 2008 and 2009, following two runner-up finishes, will open their 18th season of varsity play at home on Sunday, August 22nd against Seton Hall University from the Big East. It will be the third time the Rams have their season- opener against a Big East opponent. The previous two times were both against St. John's in 1998 and 2000.
The season opener against Seton Hall is part of a three-game home stand to begin the year for Fordham, as the team will also host Maine on Tuesday, August 24th and Manhattan on Sunday, August 29th.
Fordham will participate in one tournament this season, as the team will be at Hofstra from September 3rd-5th, where the Rams will meet St. John's on September 3rd and host Hofstra on September 5th.
After another pair of local games, a road contest at Columbia (Sept. 10) and a home game versus Long Island University (Sept. 12), the Rams will embark on their first ever Florida road trip, September 17th-19th. Fordham opens the road swing in Coral Gables, Florida, against the Miami Hurricanes of the ACC, marking the third straight season with an ACC opponent on the Rams' schedule (Duke and North Carolina - 2008; Maryland - 2009). The Rams then match-up with the Florida Atlantic Owls in Boca Raton, Florida on September 19th.
The Rams close out non-conference play with a home tilt against Army on September 26th.
Fordham begins a nine-game Atlantic 10 conference play the following weekend on Friday, October 1st, at Dayton. Road games for the Rams will also include Xavier (Oct. 3), La Salle (Oct. 8), Duquesne (Oct. 15), and St. Bonaventure (Oct. 17). The La Salle road game will be the first half of a soccer doubleheader, as the Fordham men's team will also take on La Salle later in the evening. It is the only soccer doubleheader of the year.
The Rams will have home conference games against George Washington (Oct. 22), Richmond (Oct. 24), Massachusetts (Oct. 29), and Rhode Island (Oct. 31).
In addition to the 19 regular season games, Fordham will have one exhibition contest at Rutgers on August 14th.
The Rams will look to make their third championship game appearance in five seasons at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held in Kingston, Rhode Island.
