Piscataway, N.J. -
The Fordham track & field team had their final opportunity for event qualifiers at the 2010 ECAC/IC4A Championship next week, as the group competed at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, New Jersey on Saturday. Mother Nature however didn't make things easy, as the weather raised up 30 mile per hour winds, hindering all the track event times.
Fordham still managed to post some strong finishes, capturing six event wins, three of which came in the relay events.
Fordham placed first in both 4x100 relays, as the women's team of Sherilyn Groeninger, Catherine Groene, Kelly Connolly, and Elisabeth Warren won in a time of 50.25, while the men's relay of Michael Bongiorno, Christopher Lyons, Frank Massaro, and Sean Atkinson won in a time of 43.83 seconds.
The Rams also won the women's 4x400 relay as Kellen Fitzgerald, Deanna Minasi, Ashley Davis, and Bridget Carroll came home in a time of 4:27.7. The men's 4x400 relay, consisting of Bernard Moore, Brian Horowitz, Sam Stuart, and John Cosgrove took second in a time of 3:37.6.

Atkinson took first in the 400 meters in 50.78 seconds, while Fitzgerald placed first in the 1500 meters in 3:57.79.
