Sophomore Jen Mineau.

Mineau is enjoying the finest year ever for a Fordham softball pitcher. Through 51 games this season, Mineau (29-5), has broken the records for strikeouts in a single game three times, (18, 19 and then 22) and the single season strikeout (420) and shutouts (14) records and is on pace to set Fordham's single season ERA record with her current ERA of 0.65. She's been named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week five times (Feb. 22, March 1, April 19th, April 26th and May 3rd) and was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Division I Player of the Week on May 4th after tallying her second-straight 3-0, three shutout week.

In 226.2 innings pitched Mineau's allowed just 103 hits and 27 runs, 21 earned, in 41 appearances. She has had the four best strikeout performances in Fordham history, including a 22-strike out performance in a 5-3, nine-inning win at La Salle on April 18th.

Through games of May 2nd, Mineau leads the NCAA Division in strike outs (13.0/seven innings) and is ranked second in the country in ERA and walks allowed (0.71/seven innings) and is tied for eighth in wins.

On April 7th, Mineau was announced as one of collegiate softball's elite as she was named a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25 Finalist by officials from the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America. She is the only sophomore and the lone representative of the Atlantic 10 on a list selected out of 20 schools and seven Division I conferences and is the only player selected from the Northeast Region.

In the first weekend of play, Mineau set two Fordham records as she pitched a seven-inning perfect game in the 10-0 season-opening win against Morehead State on February 20th. The seven-inning perfect game was the first ever in Fordham's 25 year history and was the second perfect game and third no-hitter of Mineau's career.

Mineau also has two wins over ranked teams to her credit, beating #8 Georgia Tech and shutting out #22 Texas A&M.

Junior Beckah Wiggins.

Wiggins is hitting at a .348 clip (56-161) with eight doubles, three triples, 12 home runs and a team-high 58 RBI. She leads the Atlantic 10 and is ranked 12th in the nation in RBI while ranking second in the conference in home runs, second in slugging percentage (.658), tied for second in triples and sixth in batting average. Her 58 RBI this year is a school record, surpassing Laura Klaiber's 2005 mark of 56 while the 12 home runs is the third most in a season for a Ram.

Wiggins was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on March 29th after batting .813 overall (13-for-16) with 20 RBI, five home runs, nine runs and no strikeouts. She was 10-for-13 with runners on base, 3-for-3 with bases loaded and was a clutch hitter for the Rams as she hit 7-for-9 (.778) with seven RBI with two outs on the board.

The junior infielder tied/broke six of Fordham's all-time records in four games that week. Against Saint Peter's on March 24 in the first game of a doubleheader, Wiggins broke the RBI record with nine, tied the hits in a game record with five and homeruns in a game record with two. She also tied the record for total bases in a game, touching the bags 11 times in her five at bats. In the first game at Dayton, Wiggins broke the homeruns in a game record with her three homeruns, including a two-out grand slam, and broke the total bases in a game record (12).

The Rams are 43-8 overall in 2010, 14-2 in the Atlantic 10. The 43 wins is a school record, surpassing the 39 victories turned in by the 2007 squad that finished 39-20. Fordham is currently riding a 17-game win streak, the longest win streak of the season so far, dating back to April 6. The 17-game streak is a school record, surpassing a 16-game stretch which was recorded from March 17 through April 7 in 2007.

Fordham will close out its 2010 Atlantic 10 regular season on Sunday when they host the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies in a doubleheader on Bahoshy Field at Noon.
