NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Fordham softball pitcher Jen Mineau (Schaghaticoke, N.Y./Hoosic Valley Central) tallied her fifth Atlantic 10 Pitcher of The Week honor on May 3, as the awards were released by conference officials on Monday. Mineau shares this week's honor with Saint Louis' pitcher, Hannah Huebbe. The accolade is the third for Mineau is as many weeks after the sophomore recorded her second-straight 3-0 week as the Rams' starting pitcher.

Mineau's three wins were a result of three shutouts as she has recorded complete game shutouts in the past five of six games for her second-consecutive week of a 0.00 ERA.

Mineau tallied 25 strikeouts in her 3-0 week. She and pitcher Chelsea Plimpton (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville South (St. John's)) combined for a two-hit victory over local-foe Iona on Wednesday.

During the weekend, Mineau pitched both games against Charlotte, helping the Rams to 1-0 victory in the first game and a 8-0 win in the second. In the first game, Mineau struck out the side twice for a season total of 43 times this season.

Currently, Mineau, a USA Softball Player of the Year Top 25 Finalist, has 420 season strikeouts, single-handedly breaking the Fordham team record for strikeouts in the season set by the 2007 Rams. As a team, Fordham has recorded 535 strikeouts, setting a new team record.

Mineau is 29-5 for the season, with an ERA of 0.65 in 226.2 innings pitched. The sophomore has won 14 complete game shutouts and has had a hand in 20 of the Rams' shut out victories overall. Fordham is 42-8 overall and 14-2 in the Atlantic 10. Fordham has held opponents scoreless over 42-consecutive innings, dating back to the final inning of the second game against La Salle on April 18. Mineau earned the win in all six games.
