BRONX, N.Y. - The Fordham men's soccer team announced their 2010 schedule today, which will feature 18 regular-season games split between nine non-conference and nine Atlantic 10 contests.

The Rams will play eight home games on the friendly confines of Jack Coffey Field, hosting local rivals, Adelphi, Columbia, Hofstra and Manhattan and key Atlantic 10 match ups with Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, Dayton and Xavier.

Fordham, who qualified for the Atlantic 10 Championships for the third-straight season in 2009 with a 9-7-3 overall record and a 6-1-2 conference mark as the No. 3 seed, will start the 2010 season with two exhibition contests. The first will be at home against LIU on Aug. 21 and the second will be at Iona on Aug. 27.

The Rams will kick off their regular season with a home contest against Adelphi (Sept. 1) before taking to the road for three-straight matches. Fordham will travel first to Bethlehem, Pa., to play Lehigh (Sept. 4), before traveling south to Louisville, Ky., to face off against the Louisville Cardinals of the BIG EAST, who qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2009. The Rams will finish off their road trip, facing their second-consecutive BIG EAST opponent, Cincinnati, in Ohio on Sept. 12.

Fordham will play two local opponents at Jack Coffey Field with a mid-week match up against Columbia (Sept. 15) followed by a contest against Hofstra on Saturday (Sept. 18).

The Rams will travel northeast to Central Connecticut State for a Saturday night game (Sept. 25) before crossing back over the New York border to play in Poughkeepsie against the Marist Red Foxes of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (Sept. 29) for a mid-week night game.

Fordham will play back-to-back games against MAAC schools with a home contest against Manhattan (Oct. 2) following the Marist-Fordham game.

After Manhattan, the Rams will begin A-10 play with a road contest at La Salle (Oct. 8), before hosting Duquesne (Oct. 15) and St. Bonaventure (Oct. 17). The No. 6-seeded Bonnies knocked the No. 3 Rams out of the Atlantic 10 Championships in the first round in 2009.

In mid- to late- October, the Rams will play four-straight Atlantic 10 road games, starting with George Washington (Oct. 22) then traveling two hours south the Richmond (Oct. 24) before coming all the way back up I-95 to play at University of Massachusetts (Oct. 29) and at Rhode Island (Oct. 31).

The Rams will close out their season with two home games, playing the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship runners up, Dayton on Nov. 5. Fordham will play their regular season finale against Xavier on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
