Fordham Head Coach Bridget Orchard
On Fordham’s 2-0 loss to No. 14 Oklahoma:
“We needed to score runs. We just didn’t capitalize on the opportunities to score runs. We loaded the bases in the first running and we didn’t get a run acrosse. Give Oklahoma a lot of credit, obviously their pitcher was shutting us down, keeping us off-balance with her change up and got big strikeouts when she needed to. When she got runners on she seemed to get better and Oklahoma as a whole just played well when they needed to.”
On playing in a Regional Final:
“It was an awesome opportunity for our players just the experience to be here it was a first time for everybody including myself and we were just happy that the selection committee gave us the at-large berth. They credited our hard work and they recognized that and gave us the chance to be here. We didn’t win our conference tournament, so we thank the selection committee for that and giving Erin Fisher our senior a send off by coming to the Regionals and hopefully our underclassmen can build upon that and come back next year and win the whole Region.”

On her last season with Fordham softball:
“It’s been an awesome season, it’s a season I’ll never forget. I had a great team, they were there for me whenever I needed them and I’m glad that we got to where we did and I’m so proud of us. As I said, it’s a season I’ll never forget. It’s been a great four years. I can’t wait to come back next year and watch them win the region.”
