Fordham Head Coach Bridget Orchard
Opening Statement: “We didn’t execute where we needed to. We put oursevles in a position to win the game, we put runners on, we just couldn’t get them in. For the 2 p.m. game we’re going to regroup and get ourselves focused for the next game.”
On the play of the Fordham defense to keep the score low:
“Our defense played a phenominal game today, Jen [Mineau] pitched lights out today. We did everything we could defensively, one run shouldn’t determine the game. It was the fact that we couldn’t score runs.”
On looking ahead to the 4 p.m. game:
“If we play Maryland again, if we come out and play the way we did today against Oklahoma it should be a better game than last night. We were tense and we didn’t really play our game. We got the win, but I don’t think we played the way we normally play. If we play Syracuse, we’ll do the same thing, we’re not going to worry about opponent. We’re going to focus on playing Fordham Softball and playing our game.”
