May 19, 2010

Bronx, N.Y. - As the 2009-10 season begins to wind down, the Fordham University Athletic Department held its 76th annual Block F Awards Dinner at the Villa Barone Manor on May 6th to honor Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments during the academic year.

Among those honored was junior Katie McDermott, who was named the 2009 women's soccer most valuable player.

McDermott was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2009, after registering two goals and two assists for six points this season. She becomes the first Fordham women's soccer player to earn All-Atlantic 10 honors for three consecutive seasons, having been named Second Team All-Conference as a freshman and sophomore.

McDermott led the Rams to their fourth straight Atlantic 10 Championship appearance, garnering 2009 All-Tournament honors in the process.
