BRONX, N.Y. - The Fordham softball team awaits their fate in the 2010 NCAA Softball Regionals as the field of 64 is revealed on Sunday night at 10 p.m. on ESPNU. For those fans who can't make it live, there will be live streaming available on FordhamSports.com.
The Fordham softball team (47-10) is looking forward to a possible first-ever bid to the NCAA Regionals as an At Large bid after making a run for the Atlantic 10 Title in their first Atlantic 10 Championship Final since 2006.
Fordham boasts an RPI of 30 and has been receiving votes in all three national top 25 polls since early March. Three weeks ago, Fordham was ranked for the first time in the Ultimate College Softball poll. They have been No. 24 and No. 23 in the most recent edition of the poll. The Rams have defeated three ranked teams this season, including then No. 19 Texas A&M, then No. 8 Georgia Tech and No. 21 Massachusetts. Fordham's defeat of UMass came in the Atlantic 10 semi final game, the first time in 10 meetings the Rams have defeated the Minutewomen in the Atlantic 10 Championships.
