Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University women's tennis team traveled into Queens to face Queens College on Wednesday, falling to the Knights, 7-2. Bethany Boyle picked up a point for Fordham, winning at the third singles position while the other point came from a doubles win by Martina Featherston and Elizabeth Stall.

The Rams opened the match by dropping two of the three doubles matches. Martina Featherston and Elizabeth Stall picked up a win for the Rams at third doubles, defeating Taylor Barber and Daniela Celi, 8-3. At first doubles, Sarah Tremaine and Jennifer Mullen fell to Erika Goldsmith and Somadi Druker, 8-3, while at the second position Bethany Boyle and Taylor Holt were upended by Maria Mendes and Laura Mocodeanu, 8-1.

Boyle picked up a point in singles play for the Rams, taking third singles from Goldsmith in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3.

Fordham almost picked up another point in a marathon match at fourth singles as Holt took the first match from Mendes, 6-0, but lost the second, 7-6 (7-5 in the tiebreaker). Holt then lost 10-4 in the third set.

The Rams lost the other singles matches in straight sets as Tremaine fell to Mocodeanu (7-5, 6-0) at first singles, Featherston lost to Druker (6-2, 6-4) at the second position, Stall was bested by Barber at the fifth spot (6-5, default due to injury) and Mullen was upended by Celi (6-3, 6-0) at sixth singles.

The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, April 11th, as they travel back into Queens to face St. John's University at 11:00 AM.
