Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshman runner Daniel Chediak (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) earned his first career weekly award today, as he was named Atlantic 10 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week, for the week ending April 18th.

Chediak registered a pair of top three finishes at this weekend's Metropolitan Championships, held at Ramapo College. He took second in the 110 meter hurdles in a season-best time of 15.66 seconds, then followed with a third place finish in the pole vault, clearing 12' 6".

Chediak's performances helped Fordham finish second out of ten teams at the Metropolitan Championship.

Chediak and the rest of the Fordham track & field teams will next be in action on April 22nd through April 24th, when they compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
