Philadelphia, Pa. - The Fordham University women's tennis team traveled to Philadelphia to face Temple University on Saturday, falling to the Owls by a 6-1 score. Jane Carroll accounted for the Rams' point with a win at sixth singles.

The Owls opened the match by taking the doubles point, defeating Fordham in two of the three doubles matches. Fordham's Sarah Tremaine and Jennifer Mullen won at first doubles when their opponents retired but Taylor Holt and Bethany Boyle fell at second doubles to Anastasia Rukavyshnykova and Lucie Pazderova, 8-4, and Martina Featherston and Elizabeth Stall lost Theresa Stangl and May Johnson at the third position by an 8-2 score.

In singles play Carroll defeated Katharina Mittag at sixth singles by default. The Rams lost the other singles matches in straight sets as Featherstone fell to Rukavyshnykova (6-1, 6-0), Tremaine lost to Josephine Bergman (6-0, 6-0), Boyle was upended by Pazderova (6-0, 6-2), Mullen fell to Stangl (6-0, 6-2) and Holt fell to Johnson (6-0, 6-3) in first through fifth singles, respectively.

The Rams will next be in action on Sunday, April 18th, as they host La Salle University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 11:00 a.m.
