Monroeville, Pa. - The Fordham University men's tennis team opened play at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship by falling to Saint Louis, 4-0, at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. The Rams will now play Dayton on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.

The match opened with Saint Louis taking the doubles point, winning both of the completed matches. Fordham's Alex DeRienzo and Eli Plangger fell at second doubles to Ken Nordheim and Chris Eriksson, 8-2, while John Thornhill and Nick Kelly were edged out by Jake Hendrie and Dave Welkner, 9-7. Dallas Harting and Austin Shoup were tied with Saint Louis' James McArthur and P.J. Hendrie, 8-8, when the match was stopped.

In singles play, Fordham fell at the second, third and sixth positions. Kevin Maloney was defeated by Nordheim at second singles (6-0, 6-0), Thornhill fell to Jake Hendrie at the third spot (6-1, 6-1) and Ken Fukumoto was upended by Bryan Beasley at the sixth position (6-0, 6-0).
