STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Fordham Rams are once again rated among the nation's best in this week's USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, as the team received votes in Tuesday's poll for the second-straight week.
In the March 2 poll, Fordham received their first vote of the season, and first vote in Fordham history.
The Rams are one of 12 teams that lie just outside the top 25 and are among four teams that received two votes with Tennessee-Martin, Kentucky and local opponent Hofstra.
Fordham is 10-4 overall, after a 4-1 weekend at the Under Armour Invitational hosted by USF in Clearwater, Fla. The Rams are coming off victories over Florida International, Florida Gulf Coast, Central Michigan and Memphis in the USF Invite. The week prior, the Rams defeated No. 24 Texas A&M.
This Saturday, the Rams will play No. 11 Georgia Tech at their home tournament, the Springhill Suites Buckhead Classic in Atlanta, Ga.
For the fourth time in five weeks, the Washington Huskies received all 30 first-place votes to remain at No. 1. The Huskies have now held the No. 1 spot for five consecutive editions of the poll.
The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference. 2010 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
