Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's tennis squad picked up its second win of the spring with a 7-0 shut out of Rider University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts on Wednesday. The Rams won all six singles matches as well as all three doubles matches.

The Rams opened the match by winning the doubles point taking all three doubles matches. Dallas Harting and John Thornhill won at first doubles over Will Haight and Marc Ashed, 8-4, while Alex DeRienzo and Eli Plangger took second doubles from Ryan Carpenter and Drew Laverty, 8-1. At third doubles, the Fordham team of Nick Kelly and Julian Edelman defeated Matt DeMartino and John Spellman, 8-6.

In singles action, the Rams won all six singles matches in straight sets. Harting won at first singles over Haight (6-1, 6-2) while Maloney took the second spot over Carpenter (6-1, 6-1) and Thornhill was victorious over Ashed at the third position (6-3, 6-2). At fourth singles, Austin Shoup upended Laverty (6-3, 6-2) while DeRienzo defeated Rob Olsen at fifth singles (6-3, 6-4) and Ken Fukumoto took the sixth position from Milo Milosaki (6-1, 6-4).

The Rams will next be in action on Tuesday, April 6th, as they host St. Francis (NY) College on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts for a 4:00 p.m. match.
