Monmouth Hawk Spring Invitational Complete Results

Lakewood, N.J. - The Fordham golf team wrapped up competition at the Hawk Spring Invitational on Sunday, hosted by Monmouth University at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood, N.J. The Rams finished 10th out of 12 teams.

Fordham shot a day two score of 316 to go with its opening round of 316 for a 632 team score, which was three strokes back of Manhattan College for ninth place. Sacred Heart won the overall team title with a score of 593, followed by Rider (605), St. Francis (Pa.) (605), and Bucknell (605).

Individually, Rider's Eric Lafante won the tournament in a playoff over Ryan Schneiter of Bucknell. Both golfers finished with a score of 144.

Fordham's Brody Nieporte was the team's top finisher, as he tied for 20th overall with a two-round score of 154 (78-76), while David Newman tied for 26th overall (78-78-156). Jason Del Rosso placed in a tie for 35th with a score of 159 (79-80), while Devon O'Rourke (T44th - 81-82-163) and Charles Smith (55th - 84-93-177) rounded out the Fordham contingent.

The Fordham golf team will next be in action on Saturday, April 3rd, when they play at the Yale Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut.
