Track & Field Wraps Up Competition at Raleigh Relays

Raleigh, N.C. - The Fordham track & field team finished up competition at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday with a hand full of participants in the individual and relay events.

Fordham's best finish came from Brian Riley, who took third in Section II of the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:02.81.

In addition to Riley, Julian Saad was 14th in Section II of the 1500 meters in a time of 4:03.94, while Kerri Gallagher was 18th in Section I of the women's 1500 meters in 4:38.53. Sheena Parand was the final individual competitor, as she was 51st in Section II of the 1500 meters in 5:00.96.

In relay action, the men's 4x800 relay of Tim Hutchinson, Kevin Fitzgerald, John Cosgrove, and Michael Rossi placed ninth in 7:45.99, while the 4x400 relay team of Sean Atkinson, Christopher Lyons, Brian Schmidt, and Rossi were 21st in 3:17.74.

On the women's side, the 4x200 relay of Kelly Connolly, Gallagher, Catherine Groene, and Kerry Kwalwasser placed 21st in 1:45.60. The same group also ran the 4x400 relay, which placed 28th overall in 4:00.37.
