Philadelphia, Pa. - The Fordham University men's tennis squad continued it 2010 spring season on Sunday by traveling down to Philadelphia to face Temple University, falling to the Owls by a 7-0 count.

The Rams opened the match by dropping the doubles point as Temple took all three doubles matches. Dallas Harting and John Thornhill fell at first doubles to Stanislav Stekolshikov and Andrey Morozov, 8-4, while Alex DeRienzo and Kevin Maloney were upended at second doubles by Masur Gishkaev and Dmitry Vizhunov, 8-2. At third doubles, the Fordham team of Eli Plangger and Austin Shoup were defeated by Matt King and Luv Sodha, 8-1.

In singles action, the Rams lost all six singles matches in straight sets. Harting fell at first singles to Filip Rams (6-2, 6-3) while Maloney lost to Morozov at the second spot (6-0, 6-2) and Thornhill was upended by Stekolshikov (6-0, 6-0). At fourth singles, Shoup was felled by Gishkaev (6-0, 6-1) while DeRienzo was defeated at fifth singles by Sodha (6-2, 7-6) and Ken Fukumoto lost the sixth position to King (6-1, 6-1).

The Rams will next be in action on Tuesday, March 23rd, as they travel to Jersey City, N.J., to face Saint Peter's College for a 4:00 p.m. match.
