Newport News, Va. - Fordham University junior runner Sherilyn Groeninger (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's) earned her first weekly award of the season today, as she was named Atlantic 10 Outdoor Women's Track & Field Performer of the Week, for the week ending March 21st.

Groeninger won the 100-meter dash at the Mason Quadrangular Meet in a school record time of 12.35 seconds, breaking her old mark of 12.54, set the Atlantic 10 Championship last year.

Groeninger was also part of the 4x100 meter relay, that finished second in a time of 49.73 seconds, and later posted a ninth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 25.79 seconds.

Groeninger and the rest of the Fordham track & field teams will next be in action on Friday, March 26th, when they compete at the N.C. State Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina.
